Drama student Azan Ahmed answers the popular question. Is it worth studying drama at university?

University is a big step in anyone’s life, so you’ll need to grasp some sort of understanding of what you might be getting yourself into for the next three (or more) years. What’s the university experience really like, or should I just go to drama school?

Everyone’s experience of university is different, but that’s one of the things that make it great. The opportunities available whilst studying are numerous, with most people’s enjoyment stemming from extracurricular activities in the many societies and sports clubs present. For example, I was granted a free trip to Paris to perform a play that was put on by the drama society. Without university, getting the chance to perform internationally would have taken longer and cost a lot more.
